Request an invitation to participate early as only a limited number of students and companies can be matched to projects. Requests to participate should be submitted by September 13, 2019.
We welcome requests from companies and organizations who would benefit from testing new ideas, engaging deeply with multi-disciplinary student talent around specific challenges, exploring a new business model, ideating a new product or service, or even developing proofs of concept or MVPs.
We are currently accepting applications for our 8-Week Co-Innovation Lab that will match multi-disciplinary students to your industry challenge.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a call to discuss your needs and to specific a project.
How it Works
8-Week Co-Innovation Lab
Companies and organizations are selected to bring a problem to solve and multi-disciplinary teams are curated based on best match with skills and interests. We work with highly qualified graduate and undergraduate students from Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Communications, Art and Design and other disciplines and focus on complementary skills in each team.
Teams are mentored and work closely with companies to experiment, run technology sandboxes, execute ideas, create proofs of concepts, do research, and/or demonstrate incremental innovation.
Companies will be invited to participate as deeply as they wish with team members or may choose to check in mid- and end-point on progress and a presentation and documentation will be provided to each company.
We run our programs in a “third space” to be able to offer the flexibility to create shared IP agreements, protect IP during the course of the project, and to meet needs for outcomes driven by participant interest.
We are a nice bunch and like to collaborate with people of all interests, abilities and talents. We actively seek diversity in thinking and perspectives. We match graduate and undergraduate students interested in working on industry challenges and also offer an open incubator program for student entrepreneurs with early-stage ideas.
For industry projects, our general focus is on STEAMD (science, technology, engineering, art, math, design) skills but we encourage multi-disciplinary teams with members who are creative thinkers, business drivers, and fast learners. Breadth of perspective, collaborative spirit, and creativity are as important as experience.
We offer Co-Innovation Lab opportunities in the spring and fall. The best way to start is to attend an Info Session to learn more.
You can also fill out this Request to Participate Form or contact email@example.com with questions. We often have hands-on learning opportunities, internships in our Labs, and projects during the year. Filling out the form gets the process started and we will follow up with you with additional questions. Important note: We can only put you in the consideration set, there is no guarantee of participation.
We have a limited number of opportunities for student entrepreneurs and projects for working on industry challenges. Students we work with may receive one of the following:
- A scholarship to participate in our incubator program
- A pre-determined stipend or hourly rate for working on an industry project
- Option to compete for a cash team award for a Grand Challenge at our end-of-semester event
- A Certificate of Participation for volunteer internships that build new skills and provide experiential learning
